I created this book for my youngest sister in anticipation of her freshman year at college. As the stereotypical older sister, I wanted to share thoughts/wisdom/advice with her before she embarked on the next phase of her life. The result was this book, a mix of sisterly love, advice, and humor. The book features a modified, inverted concertina structure with a modified case binding. The modified box structure serves to hold and protect the book, but also to showcase a collection of mixed media and found objects symbolizing luck, growth, and entrance into a new phase in life. The images and art are digitally manipulated photographs, the typefaces used throughout the book are Gigi Plain, Exotic 350 BT Light, and Hoefler Text.
