I created this series as an exploration of a book structure that could be hung/displayed flat. The pieces are made to appear as if they are actually books opened to a specific page and laid flat. The subject matter that I chose to explore through this structure is a place that is very dear to my heart; a lake where I have spent time nearly every summer since my birth. Finding a way to express my connection to this place has always been difficult, as nothing seems to do it's pure peace and beauty justice. In this attempt, I explored using different manmade and natural materials in juxtaposition with a short poem about the lake. 

In 2008, one of the series pieces was sold at the Art Anonymous Auction through the Corcoran Gallery of Art.
