I created this book in response to the "inevitable question" that I always get when I tell people that I am a book artist, specifically a maker of handmade artist's books. I wanted to create a small book that I could give to people to help explain the motivation behind Liminal Press + Bindery, and more importantly, what artist's books are. Specifically, I wanted to make a relatively simple structure for the book so that it was inexpensive to make and relatively quick to reproduce, so that I could give these away for free to anyone curious enough to ask. The structure is made from paper that I recycle from art/design magazines and the insert cards are printed on scrap cardstock. The images on the reverse of the insert cards are computer illustrations and the book is set in the Love Letter Typewriter typeface.
