Once There Was a Tree
I created this book as an exploration of significant memories and pivotal moments in my life, revolving around the symbolism of trees. Nature has always played an important role in my life, which I was able to begin to understand, and to honor, through this book. Each section of the book contains digitally altered images of trees juxtaposed with an actual leaf from that tree hand sewn between pieces of vellum. The covers of the book are made from birch bark mounted on bark paper.
